Babies & toddlers: up to 24 months

We have extensive experience in this room, which is managed by Katrina Vinluan. Many of the children we have cared for are now at Barling, Wakering and other local schools. We like to build a close relationship with you to ensure every aspect of your child's development is managed and provide you with daily activity sheets. We also have frequent parent reviews at times to suit you.

Activities

We have a staff to baby ratio of 1:3 in this room. There are many colourful, stimulating toys to encourage awareness & development. We also use various textures & materials plus music & songs to help with sensory development. We have a separate soft play area including a catapillar tunnel!!

Age ranges

Children stay in this room until they are physically able to get around so the upper age is flexible, depending on their needs. They integrate with the older children, for instance, at song time. Once they reach 18 months they can move into the next room which is equipped for children up to 3 years.

Outside Play

The toddlers have their own outside play area which is part decking and part synthetic grass. There is a play house, slide, cars and trikes plus push along toys. We also have a shaded, grassy play area with various potted herbs where they can enjoy sensory activities.

Sleep and Rest

We work with you to ensure that your child's routines are understood and integrated into our planning. We have full size cots in a separate room. All sheets and blankets are washed daily in order that we maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Feeding

We provide all baby food, from cereals in the morning, lunch and afternoon tea. Once babies are on solids, we introduce them to the same menu as the older children which has a variety of meat and fish, vegetables and fruit. Food is liquidised until they are able to manage more chunky mouthfulls.

Milk and Nappies

As each baby prefers different milk, we ask parents to bring in baby's formula or breast milk ready made up in bottles. We also ask for a supply of nappies. Everything else is included in the fees.
