There is a staff to child ratio of 1:4 for this age group. Staff in here are highly experienced and take pride in their role in developing the children and work with you in all aspects of development. You will assigned a key person and given a daily activity sheet which talks about the type of personal development we have seen during the day, food, potty training and sleeps. The sunny roomWe call this beautiful spacious room the "sunny room" because it get's the afternoon sun! There are lots of activities for physical, creative and academic development; but also an area for rest and sleep when required, and always time for cuddles. What's in the roomThis room has a beautiful tropical fish tank. We also have a home corner with a comfy sofa and extensive books. There are a number of creative and role play areas where the children can express themselves. We also have a soft play area where the children can enjoy various activities. Arts,crafts and cooking... There are always paints, sand, water and junk modelling activities. We have a "topic of the month" where children contribute to wall displays. The children prepare and cook food at least once a week - this can be fresh bread, cakes, biscuits or fruit salad or smoothies. FoodChildren are provided with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Staff always sit with the children and encourage good eating habits. There is a varied menu supported by snacks mid morning and afternoon. We also provide milk, fruit juice and chilled filter water. Outside playWe have two play areas - one is for bikes, trikes & cars. We also have a miniature basketball set and numerous balls and hoops. The second area is grassy & shaded with an wooden activity centre, wooden play train and slides. There is also a sensory area with over 20 herb plants which allows the children to experience different smella and fragrences. The outside area has sand and water activities and which the children love! We have a plentifull supply of paint brushes as the children enjoy mark making with water on the floor and walls. Extended outside activitiesWe often take the children for walks to the local fields, duck pond, farm and beach. They occasionally go on short trips - for example, we took them to Petsmart in Rochford help choose the tropical fish for their room. We also arrange subsidised trips such as the Sealife Centre,Marsh Farm and Tropical Wings. |
